The who and why behind The Lady Travels
Hello and welcome to my very first blog post! Ahh, I can't believe I'm saying that. I am so excited writing this but I am even more excited knowing that YOU are reading it. So let me introduce myself, I am Hayley Syms, the face behind The Lady Travels. I have been thinking of starting my own blog for a while now but I’ll touch more on that a little later... For my very first blog post, I wanted to introduce myself and what you may expect to see here.
A little about me…
I was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and I have lived here my whole life. I went to college for theatrical and media makeup but I ended the course realising that it wasn't what I had a passion for, so I spent years interning in the fashion industry to try and find the right path for me. I was then led to work in PR and social media management and I haven't looked back since!
I have always had a passion for photography and videography from a very young age. My parents are big shutterbugs, they would always love to go out and take nature photography and bring me along, so their love for the camera has definitely rubbed off on me. As well as photography, I of course love to travel and be outdoors! I love nothing more than gallivanting through the Irish countryside with my camera or spending time hiking in the Wicklow mountains, which is one of the reasons why I created The Lady Travels and now my blog!
How it all started…
I started The Lady Travels back in 2020 at a time when we were all stuck in lockdown and we weren't allowed to travel abroad. I was trying to think of ways to keep myself and my family occupied so I began re-exploring my love for the outdoors by going for local walks and trips around Ireland. I found myself in some of my favourite places as a kid that I never would have thought to revisit. I then got the idea of sharing all of my little adventures to help others get out and explore locally as well, and so The Lady Travels was born! It has since grown into an amazing little community where I can share with you all my tips and recommendations for travelling.
What to expect…
My whole idea for this blog is to use my knowledge and experience with travelling to help you! I will be taking you along on all of my adventures by creating in-depth and interactive travel guides of all of the places I travel to as well as my favourite spots in Ireland. I will be sharing my honest opinions with you all to help you make the most out of your adventures.
I am so excited to start this new journey and I can't wait to take you all along with me!
